There is so much information circulating in various ways about losing weight and getting healthy it is difficult to decide where one should even begin. Are all programs good or are many simply out to take your hard earned cash and provide little of value in return. Because of this I have taken a look at some products on the market and today I am reviewing one that in my humble opinion I found to be of considerable value hence the rating I have given it.
The product is a book, available as a download, called “Burn the Fat, Feed the Muscle” by Tom Venuto and the first impression I got was the honesty displayed by this author. He makes it patently clear that there are no quick and easy solutions to losing weight and that people tend to confuse the terms weight loss and fat loss. The title explains the whole thrust of the book in that Tom is more about educating people on how to become healthier as well as burn the fat.

Tom Venuto is a body builder first and foremost but the preface "natural" is important to Tom as he takes pride in the fact that he has never used steroids, or any illegal or banned muscle enhancing drugs to achieve his amazing results.Since starting body building in 1983, in 28 competitions he has won titles such as the Mr. Natural New Jersey, Natural Pennsylvania, Natural New York State, Natural Mid Atlantic States and NPC Natural Eastern Classic championships. Also 2nd place in the Mr. Natural USA and 2nd in the Mr. Natural North America contests.
Tom has a BSc degree in exercise science and belongs to sports nutrition, sports medicine and strength and conditioning organisations. He has written articles numbering in the hundreds, is a personal trainer, motivator and nutritionistso is well qualified to write this book. He employs most of his skills with the information and methodology he imparts in "Burn the Fat Feed the Muscle"
Motivation is an important aspect of disciplining yourself to carry out a program of weight loss and Tom covers that well. Each individual is different and so therefore their goals and targets have to suit them and not be a “one fits all,” philosophy. I found that Tom explained this in an easily understood manner. The best section for me though was where his nutritional knowledge was applied. He devotes quite a large section to this covering the foods and liquids you should and should not consume and the reasons why. He gives recipes and diets and alternatives to the junk type foods we eat. Proteins, carbohydrates , good and bad fats, calorie balance and a host of other headings are given the treatment so you and I can learn how to lose weight, build muscle and be healthy.
Burn the Fat Feed the Muscle is not just about diet however and Tom Venuto goes into great detail to demonstrate that exercise is a necessary part of the program. The insight he gives when it comes to weight training is obviously part of his life as a body builder. It must be pointed out here though that it is not designed just for men but also something the “fairer sex'” can participate in with the same achievements. Tom is an avid advocate of the exercise part of “Burn the Fat Feed the muscle” and includes information about cardio excercise along with the strength and muscle building requirements.
It must be noted here that the author makes no extravagant claims in this book and it is implied at all times that to get the results you want requires dedication and hard work. The document itself is not even easy going in that there is 300 plus pages chocked with valuable facts and information but no pictures or photographs. I think it is good to read something truthful however, because it negates all possibility of disappointment brought about by failure to achieve the over-promised hype of some products in the market.
In summary I found “Burn the Fat Feed the Muscle” to be an excellent book in that the emphasis is on protecting the lean body mass as far as possible but burning the fat away to lose weight and other procedures are well explained. Quite often the weight loss involves water loss causing dehydration which is not a good option. To make the deal even more appealing Tom has included bonus material which is a worthwhile package on its own.
